Expansion for millimetre-wave and MMIC
family

Available now is the second group of ICs in the AMMC series of low-cost pHEMT millimetre-wave and microwave monolithic integrated circuits.

Available now is the second group of ICs in the AMMC series of low-cost pHEMT (pseudomorphic high-electron-mobility transistor) millimetre-wave and microwave monolithic integrated circuits (MMICs) These devices are fabricated using a 0.15-micron gate length pHEMT process on 6in wafers with similar performance and comparable connection-pad locations as Agilent's proven HMMC series ICs

The AMMC-3041 is a double-balanced active mixer optimised for up-conversion or down-conversion applications in point-to-point radios, local multipoint distribution systems (LMDS) and satellite communications systems operating from 18 to 42GHz.

The AMMC-3040 is a similar mixer with a built-in local oscillator (LO) amplifier that can be used as either an up-convertor or down-convertor in 18 to 36GHz radio applications.

The LO amplifier can be biased to function as a frequency multiplier to enable second harmonic mixing of the LO input.

The AMMC-5033 operates from 17.7 to 32GHz, and is primarily intended as a driver and output stage amplifier in 18, 23, 26 and 32GHz point-to-point radio transmitters.

At 25GHz, it provides 27dBm of linear output power (P-1dB) and 20dB of small-signal gain, and includes 50ohm input and output matching circuitry.

The AMMC-5618 is a two-stage 6 to 20GHz linear (class-A) amplifier that can be used as a driver or buffer in microwave communication systems and as a general-purpose gain block.

A 50ohm matching circuit is provided at both the RF input and output.

The AMMC-5620 is a wideband amplifier designed for medium output power and high gain over the 6 to 20GHz range.

It provides a typical 19dB gain and 15dBm linear output power at 20GHz.

The Agilent AMMC series pHEMT devices are available now through Agilent's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
