Altera's low-cost Cyclone and high-performance Stratix FPGAs are delivering video processing functions for Panasonic's industry leading high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) broadcast products. Panasonic employs Altera Cyclone devices in its Cinema Series AG-DVX100A and DV Proline AG-DVC60 camcorders to deliver a number of video processing functions that have helped make Panasonic the standard for affordable movie-like image capture.

Cyclone devices contribute to the camcorders' ability to produce cinema-like images that emulate the rich look of film while offering the convenience of digital video.
Panasonic's solution for HD and SD editing in today's production and post-production facilities, the AJ-HD3700B studio mastering system, uses the digital signal processing (DSP) blocks in Altera's Stratix devices to perform image processing and other high-performance arithmetic operations.
These capabilities enable Panasonic to offer its customers the flexibility of handling multiple video formats in a single unit, while delivering superior picture quality.
