DC fans slot in to boost airflow
The Adda range of 80mm DC fans is now available in 38mm thickness as well as 15, 20 and 25mm, providing powerful upgrade for widely used 80 x 80 x 38mm AC fans
The Adda range of 80mm DC fans, now available in 38mm thickness as well as 15, 20 and 25mm, will prove a powerful upgrade for the popular 80 x 80 x 38mm AC fans that are used extensively in the electronics industry. Because the fixing holes are set at the same distance, the DC fans take up exactly the same space, require no mechanical fixing changes and yet offer vastly improved performance and greater operating flexibility.

Push-pull connectors cut costs
Low-cost push-pull connectors are ideal for applications such as test and measurement equipment, laboratory and analytical equipment and commercial and industrial applications
A DC fan of this size can operate at 4000rev/min and is capable of airflow of over 29 litre/s.
This is compared with 11.3 litre/s delivered from a similarly sized AC fan that has its speed limited by the AC frequency to typically 2750rev/min.
Apart from the increased fan speed, another reason for improved performance is that, because of the increased efficiency of the motor, the hub is smaller and therefore occupies less of the total annular area thus allowing increased airflow.
In addition, speed control is possible simply by varying the input voltage making them suitable for use in intelligent cooling systems that are required to cool complex electronic systems.
