Searching on a database of ferrite materials and geometries, the free ferrite magnetic design tool simplifies the calculation of frequency dependency, impedance, wire gauge and third harmonic distortion for different temperatures, over a range of ferrite materials.
A comprehensive library of information on all standard and new ferrite materials, and data on Epcos ferrites, allows designers to quickly research the characteristics of different materials and geometries suggested by the design tool.
By providing users with Acal Technology's complete inventory list of Epcos ferrites, the site allows designers or buyers to add crucial commercial information to the selection process which can significantly improve their products' time to market.
In addition to the online design tool, Acal will offer specialist support to help guide designers to select the optimum ferrite for their application from an extensive range of possible standard, specialist and custom ferrite components.

Epcos has been a leading manufacturer of ferrite components for over 50 years, manufacturing different core geometries, across a wide range of standard and new materials.
These include materials which can increase the reach or data rate in telecommunications and data processing applications, or enhance the RF characteristics of ferrites used for RF tuning.
Epcos ferrites from Acal Technology can be used for EMI suppression and RF tuning in common mode chokes, filtering inductors and frequency convertor filters.
They are also used in ISDN and xDSL access equipment in the telecommunications sector, in linecards and LAN for data processing, and in electronics ballasts for lighting applications, as well as in switch-mode power supplies, DC/DC convertors and chargers.
