Actel is shipping the industry's first flash-based "live-at-power-up" FPGA devices qualified to industrial specifications

The ProASIC A500K050 and A500K130 industrial devices, which offer 98,000 and 287,000 system gates, respectively, are reprogrammable, nonvolatile, low-power, single-chip units guaranteed to operate at ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to +85C. Applications requiring industrial-qualified devices include civilian aircraft avionics systems, industrial control systems and remotely deployed networking and telecommunications equipment.

With these new flash-based ProASIC FPGAs, Actel now boasts the industry's most robust line of industrial-grade nonvolatile programmable solutions.

Designers of extended temperature range systems can now choose from single-chip "live at power up" devices that range in density from 2K to 287K system gates.

The ProASIC 500K family consists of four devices ranging in size from 98,000 to 473,000 system gates and includes up to 65Kbit of embedded two-port memory.

The ProASIC 500K family combines the advantages of ASICs with the benefits of PLDs through its nonvolatile flash technology.

ProASIC 500K devices make it possible to create high-density systems using existing ASIC or FPGA design flows and tools, shortening time to production.

The A500K050 and A500K130 are available for immediate shipment in industrial temperature grades.

These devices are also available as commercial temperature products.

Volume pricing for the initial ProASIC 500K devices starts at $27.60. Request a free brochure from Actel Europe....
