Microsoft rewards Polar partnership
Abacus Polar has been named European Windows Embedded Distributor Partner of the Year.

Abacus Polar has been named European Windows Embedded Distributor Partner of the Year. Commenting on the award, Doug Follet, Business Manager for Microsoft Embedded Systems Group, said, "This is based on Abacus Polar's demand creation focus, promotional activities, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth. It is also a reflection of their professionalism and dedication to growing the Microsoft embedded franchise, both in the UK and now in other European territories as well."
Martin Kent, Chief Executive of Abacus Group, added, "Microsoft Embedded Systems Group is a strong franchise for Abacus Group.
The franchise has good synergy with the microprocessor and other franchises within Abacus Polar.
It has also supported Trident Microsystems in creating new opportunities for the future.

In November 2002, Abacus Polar expanded its activities with Microsoft into the Nordic region.
Abacus Polar was Distributor of the Year for UK and Ireland for Microsoft in 2001.
The Microsoft Embedded Partner of the Year awards recognise the innovation and expertise of its industry partners in the embedded space and demonstrates the widespread third-party support available for Microsoft Windows Embedded platforms.
Criteria assessed by the judges include the extent to which partner is viewed as an authority by Microsoft and the user community, the partner's business excellence, and the way the partner has worked with Microsoft to improve their embedded platforms, actively providing feedback and reporting.
For the Distribution award, Microsoft also looked at participation in marketing related activities, and sales performance.
