Adax has formed a partnership with Prosser Telecom, a leader in multiprotocol telecomms test systems. The two companies have worked together to design and implement a high performance and scaleable test and monitoring system for BTexact Technologies, BT's advanced research and technology business. The success of this project has resulted in the Evo-P becoming the new standard for protocol management.

BTexact Technologies is currently using the Evo-P within its network assurance laboratory at its Adastral Park headquarters, UK.

Evo-P is a range of client/server, multiprotocol test systems offering performance, accuracy and reliability.

At the heart of the Evo-P are the Adax ACT and HDC channelised controller boards.

The ACT-cPCI/PCI card provides the Evo-P with high performance monitoring capability.

It has one of the highest port densities in the industry providing up to 256 DSOs across eight T1/E1 links and supports multiple cards per system.

The HDC cPCI/PCI card is used for the simulation and performance testing of SS7 networks within the Evo-P.

It is a high-density channelised multiple-protocol controller for SS7 and other protocols.

The combination of the ACT and HDC boards enables prototyping on a PC desktop, field trials on servers and deployment on small to large scale cPCI racks.

This provides a highly flexible and scalable solution for the Prosser Telecom Evo-P test platform.

In addition to simultaneous monitoring, simulation and performance testing of SS7 networks, the Evo-P features also include fraud prevention, revenue assurance and surveillance.

The Evo-P system has been designed to support the next generation of testing for 3G GSM mobile and fixed networks, with upgrades for IP over ATM and VoIP.

"The development of the Evo-P system started in 2001 from the need to develop high performance and scaleable test and monitoring systems", said Martin Jablonski, Managing Director, Prosser Telecom.

"This project is the first of many, we hope to further develop the system and deploy it to other network operators".

"This joint venture has resulted in a solid supplier partnership between Adax and Prosser Telecom", said Robin Kent, Director, European Operations, Adax Europe.

"One of the main benefits the Evo-P brings to the customer is the ability to control all your SS7, BTNUP, ISUP and INAP monitoring and analysis from a desktop PC".
