We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Digital still camera", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.
Start with the news release Handset camera takes antishake onboard from OmniVision, which we summarised at the time by saying "Sensor brings digital still camera performance to camera phones in a fifth-inch optical format, allowing an easy upgrade of existing 1.3Mpixel and VGA camera phone designs". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Sensor slots in to upgrade handset imaging from OmniVision: "Fully integrated 3Mpixel CameraChip sensor in a quarter-inch format drops in to upgrade existing 2Mpixel handset designs".
In March 2007, we covered the news from Texas Instruments (April 2006-) concerning its DaVinci-based reference design for digital cameras - take a look at DaVinci technology in high-volume digital cameras which says: "Reference design allows high-performance digital cameras to be built at low cost for retail market".
Take a look also at the news release from Sharp Microelectronics, CCD camera features optical 3x linear zoom, as well as Single-chip handset platform cuts multimedia costs from Texas Instruments (April 2006-), and Digital media processor is made for cameras from Texas Instruments (April 2006-).
